Dolly Parton collaborated with a long range of legendary artists, which includes Paul McCartney and Elton John, on her debut rock album, Rockstar, which became published in 2023. 

The world over famend artist and East Tennessee native collaborates with own family individuals to have a good time their family history and Tennessee roots on her maximum latest album, Dolly Parton.

Parton’s success over the years has been greatly attributed to her family. Owens supported Parton throughout her career and helped her land her first gig on the local Cas Walker Show. In the 1960s, Owens and Parton also founded Owe-Par, their own music publishing business. 

“Put It Off Until Tomorrow,” which Parton and Owens co-wrote, peaked at number 10 on Bill Phillips’ 1966 Billboard Hot Country Singles chart.

The new album explores Parton’s mother’s family, the Owens, as well as her father’s family, following the family’s migration from the United Kingdom in the 1600s to their home in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee.

The album, which features more than three dozen songs and was produced by Dolly Parton’s cousin Richie Owens, was a multigenerational endeavor that involved numerous members of Parton’s direct and extended family.

Dolly Parton’s mother, Avie Lee Parton, can be heard on “Rosewood Casket,” while her niece Heidi Parton contributes to the song “A Rose Won’t Fix It.” Stella, Parton’s sister, accompanies her on “Heart Don’t Fail Me Now.”
